Paragliding tours depend heavily on the weather, so flights might be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled if wind, rain, or visibility make conditions unsafe. Stable winds, clear skies, and calm air are key for a safe, enjoyable experience, and operators may make last-minute changes if needed—so it’s best to stay flexible with timing and dates. Participants also need to meet certain health and weight requirements, sharing any medical conditions like heart issues, recent surgeries, or pregnancy so the instructor can assess safety and decide if medical clearance is needed. All essential gear—harness, helmet, and reserve parachute—is usually provided, but dressing for the altitude and wind is important, with layers, long pants, a windbreaker, and sturdy closed-toe shoes recommended. First-time flyers typically take a tandem flight with a certified instructor who handles all the piloting, and a quick safety briefing is given before takeoff to cover the basics.
